The Body Shop NEW Superfood Face Masks Review

Healthy living is now absolutely huge and something we see and hear on a daily basis. Whether it be an Instagram stream filled with poached eggs and avocado, endless #GymSelfies or constant adverts for celebrity recipe books, healthier lifestyles are becoming increasingly trendy and are a part of everyday life for so many people.

With this in mind, it was only a matter of time before the beauty industry pounced onto this lucrative market in a bid to create healthy living for the skin. The Body Shop have done just that with their FIVE new superfood face masks.

I initially assumed this was yet another marketing strategy to get consumers to spend their money unnecessarily by simply adding the word 'health', however I'm beyond impressed with the collection (somebody grab me a huge slice of humble pie).

Inspired by traditional beauty remedies from around the world, each jar is packed with 100% vegetarian and natural ingredients.

Whether you're a jet-setter or frantic mummy/daddy, the collection literally has something for everybody's skincare needs!

Let’s dive right in and take a look at the five scrumptious recipes:

Detoxify Me – Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

This tingling mud mask deeply purifies the skin and is just what you need to help reveal a healthy-looking, youthful glow. It’s 100% vegan and contains three powerful, key ingredients to deeply cleanse and rejuvenate skin whilst unclogging pores!

Hydrate Me – British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

My personal favourite, I'm a sucker for anything rose based!

The gorgeous scented British Rose is a refreshing gel mask inspired by the British countryside. It’s also 100% vegan and quenches the skin with moisture, using natural ingredients which will leave your skin feeling super smooth!

Nourish Me – Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask

Here’s one for those who need a bit of nourishment in their life! This indulgent melting honey mask helps to regain a soft and smooth feel to the skin. Interestingly it tackles dryness with Italian organic olive oil - random.

Brighten Me – Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

Get rid of dull and uneven skin with this immune-boosting, creamy, exfoliating mask. It brightens, revitalises and radiates skin within minutes! The main ingredient here is ginseng extract which stimulates circulation in the top layers of the skin.

Energise Me – Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask

This juicy and fresh mask is another one for vegans! It’s made up of powerful natural ingredients to recharge signs of fatigue and stress! Acai berry which is rich in anti-oxidants and vitamin C is used to help fight the appearance of fatigue whilst guarana seed extract helps to boost energy.

Packaging
The design of this product is quite simple which works really well. The masks are individually packaged and come in cute little jars, almost jam jar-like! I love the home-made vibe to the packaging, it fits perfectly with the brand's theme.
Of the five products above I’ve tried British Rose, Ethiopian Honey and Chinese Ginseng & Rice. I have to say I’ve been really impressed with the quality and instant effect of these products, they provide a quick turn around when my skin needs a little pick me up. As for the long term benefits claimed, only time will tell...

Each mask will retail at £15.00 for 75ml of the superfood goodness!

Available in stores from Tuesday 16th August.
