How the face of the beauty blogosphere is changing!

Fantastic feature in Stuff.co, New Zealand - thanks so much!

If you've ever typed a beauty query into YouTube, then you'd be familiar with the scene: A thin, pretty, fair-skinned teenager talks to the camera from the edge of her bed, testing blushers and lipsticks piece by piece. She takes you through each product in her tutorial, chatting casually as though she's your friend, sister, or behind the counter at your local department store.

Until now, beauty blogs have peddled a rather singular vision, but more and more makeup enthusiasts are taking to YouTube to change that. Across ages, sexes, genders and cultural divides, bloggers are extending their influence and changing the face of the beauty industry, making it a more inclusive space. Because when mainstream advertising pretends you don't exist, you have to look harder for your sources of inspiration.
